Xenon Health is looking for summer internship candidates for 2023, to join our team in implementing data science/machine learning projects and optimize global operations. Excellent opportunity to develop technical skills and practically apply academic cognizance. Compensation: $20 per hour.
Project Title: Inventory and Supply Cost Analysis
Goal: To perform a detailed analysis of the company’s current and potential vendor prices for equipment, medications, and other procedural supplies and develop a machine learning model to automatically update price changes and highlight the most economical options.
Description: The intern will be expected to collect and maintain pricing data of our current supply vendors, while also developing a web crawler program to obtain that information for multiple local vendors. The collected data will then be used to train a machine learning model to reflect trends in price changes, predict inventory levels, and offer economical options for vendor decisions.
Objectives/Deliverables:
- An organized listing of current and potential vendors; ideally, 5-10 providers for each medical/equipment/supply item
- Develop a Python web crawler to automatically grab the product info including price and review, for additional providers off the internet and write the data in our local database
- Develop a machine learning model to automatically update with the newest price change and offer suggestions on most economical choice, optimum inventory required, and predict the future cost trend of each item
